Facility Operations & WHS Systems

Already operating? Run it on a system, not on memory.

A licensable library of standard operating procedures and a facility Work Health & Safety system for composting and organics recycling operations — built from 25 years of hands-on experience, not a generic template pack.

Built for operations that already exist

This is different from our project-based service offers. It's for a site that's already receiving material, running a pile, or moving toward it — and needs the documentation, training material, and safety system that a professional operation runs on, without commissioning it from scratch.

This is a good fit if you:

  • Run a composting or organics facility without a documented SOP or WHS system
  • Are relying on one or two people's memory to run the site correctly
  • Need to demonstrate a system exists for a licence condition, funding body, or insurer
  • Want a head start rather than building your own documentation from a blank page

This isn't the right starting point if you:

  • Haven't yet decided whether to build a facility at all — start with SO1, Input Audit & Concept Proposal
  • Need site-specific design, approvals, or construction support — that's SO2/SO3
  • Want us to run the site directly rather than hand you a system to run it yourselves — talk to us about an ongoing advisory arrangement instead
Group A

Facility Operations

The procedures a receival, processing, and collections operation runs on day to day — from the gate through to the finished pile.

Site Receipt & Weighing

Weighbridge, loader load-cell, or estimated-volume methods; anchors reporting, compliance, and batch records.

Manual Picking & Contamination Severity Assessment

Post-spreading severity re-assessment, picking-intensity bands, sharps and hazmat handling.

Moisture Assessment & Correction

Field squeeze-test method plus a documented correction procedure for too-dry or too-wet piles.

Shredding & Chipping Decision Framework

Own-vs-hire decision logic and oversize material management.

Drop-Off Facility Acceptance Protocol

Accept/reject rules for public drop-off, rejection notice template, biosecurity movement controls.

Driver Training & Bin Inspection/Tagging Protocol

Collection-side quality control — the first point contamination can be caught, or missed.

Residential GO/FOGO Education Program

Bin sticker, letterbox drop, web and school-program content to reduce contamination at the source.

Group B

Certification & Compliance

The documentation that gets a product to market and keeps a facility inside its licence conditions.

AS 4454 Compliance SOP

Operator-level checklist covering the full classification process and non-detriment-indicator decision guide.

AS 4454 Sampling Protocol

Core sampling method, NATA laboratory engagement, and results interpretation.

Feedstock Management Plan Template

PFAS trigger box and biosecurity controls, built against current Queensland regulatory position.

Group C

Work Health & Safety

A governing safety system, not just task-specific hazard notes buried inside individual SOPs.

Work Health & Safety Plan — Composting Facility

Facility-wide hazard register, PPE requirements by task, emergency and incident procedures, training cross-reference.

Fire Prevention & Response Procedure

Covers battery-related fire risk (lead-acid and lithium) and self-heating stockpile risk — a gap most operations don't have documented at all.

🔁 This library doesn't sit still. Every document carries a standing review date and gets checked against current regulation on a rolling cycle — so what you licence today is built to stay current, not go stale in a drawer.
📋 These are professionally developed templates, not off-the-shelf compliance guarantees. Most documents are built against current Queensland regulation as the primary reference, with several extended to NSW and Victorian requirements — coverage varies by document and we'll confirm exactly what applies to your jurisdiction before you licence. Every facility still needs its own site-specific adaptation and sign-off; these documents are the head start, not the finish line.

Two ways to use this

Same library, two different levels of involvement — pricing is discussed against your specific situation, not published as a flat rate.

Option 1

Template Licence

You take the library as-is and adapt it in-house. The fastest, lowest-cost way in if you have the internal capacity to do the site-specific customisation yourselves.

  • Full 12-document library, single-facility licence
  • Editable format, your branding
  • You handle site-specific adaptation and sign-off

Option 2

Template + Site Customisation

We do the adaptation work — site walk, feedstock-specific parameters, jurisdiction-specific regulatory tailoring, and integration with what you're already running. You get a system that's actually ready to use, not just a template to work through.

  • Everything in the Template Licence
  • Site visit and feedstock/facility-specific tailoring
  • Jurisdiction-specific regulatory checks for your state
  • Rollout and staff training support

Radicle Compost Advisory

Not sure which option fits?

Tell us what you're running and where the gaps are — an operational review that isn't working, a WHS obligation you can't currently evidence, or a licence condition asking for documentation you don't have. We'll give you an honest read before you commit to anything.
